문학 교육 현장에서 소설의 기본 개념에 대한 학습은 매우 중요하다. 기본 개념은 작품에 대한 접근 통로를 열어주며 창의적인 발상의 출발점이 된다. 구체적으로 ‘사건’과 ‘주인공’이라는 개념은 그동안 어떤 국어과 교과서에서도 개념으로 제시되지 않았지만, 그에 대한 학습은 작품에 대한 창의적 해석과 수용의 길잡이가 된다. 사건을 인물들에게 의미 있는 변화를 야기 시키는 일로, 주인공은 가장 의미 있는 변화를 겪은 인물로 개념 규정하고 작품 수용 활동을 할 때 독자(학습자)는 매우 달라진 양상을 보이며 주체적인 수용자로 거듭나게 된다.

The study aims to provide a model of novel education based on the primary theory-concept of novel.
