본 연구는 중학생을 대상으로 가족스트레스와 진로태도성숙 및 게임중독의 관계를 알아보고, 가족 스트레스와 게임중독의 관계에서 진로태도성숙의 매개효과를 확인하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구 대 상은 서울, 경기, 강원, 충남에 소재한 4개 중학교에 재학 중인 1학년, 2학년, 3학년 남·녀 학생 367명을 대상으로 가족스트레스, 진로태도성숙, 게임중독 척도를 사용하여 측정하였다. 자료 분석은 SPSS/WIN v15.0을 이용하여 요인분석, 빈도분석, 상관관계, 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 성별에 있어서는 남학생이 여학생보다 게임중독 점수가 유의하게 높았으며, 학년, 성적, 경제수준에 따른 게임중독 점수의 차이는 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 가족스트레스와 진로태도성숙 및 게임중독의 상관관계를 살펴본 결과, 가족스트레스가 높으면 게임중독은 높아졌다. 또한 진로태도성숙이 높으면 게임중독은 낮아졌다. 셋째, 중학생의 가족스트레스와 게임중독과의 관계에서 진로태도성숙이 부분매개 하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 중학생 의 게임중독을 예방하기 위해서는 가족스트레스를 감소하기 위한 환경적 개입뿐만 아니라 진로태도 성숙을 위한 체계적 진로상담프로그램이 필요함을 시사한다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship among family stress, career attitude maturity and Internet game addiction of middle school students and verify the mediating effects of career attitude maturity in the relationship between family stress and Internet game addiction. The data was collected from 367 male and female students ranging from grade 1 to grade 3 in four different middle schools located in Seoul, Kyeonki-do, Kangwon-do, and Chungcheongnam-do. A survey was conducted by using the scales of family stress, career attitude maturity and Internet game addiction scales. Factor analysis, frequency analysis, correlation analysis and hierarchical regression analysis were conducted on the data using SPSS/WIN v15.0. The results of this study are as follows. First, gender had significant effects on Internet game addiction, indicating that male students were affected more than females. However, grade, academic achievement and economic levels did not show statistically meaningful results. Second, the results examining the correlation among family stress, career attitude maturity and Internet game addiction showed that the higher family stress was, the higher Internet game addiction was. Also, the higher career attitude maturity was, the lower Internet game addiction was. Third, career attitude maturity was partially mediated in the relationship between family stress and Internet game addiction of middle school students. These results of the study suggest that an organized career counselling program to enhance career attitude maturity as well as environmental inventions to reduce family stress is needed to prevent Internet game addiction of middle school students.
