경험론과 합리론을 종합한 칸트의 이원론은 감성과 오성 사이에서 밸런스를 유지하려고 한다. 하지만 이러한 이원론에 기초한 칸트의 인식비판은 감성적 직관과 오성의 개념의 관계를 설명하는데 있어서 모순적인 태도를 보인다. 칸트는 한편으로 감성과 오성, 직관과 개념을 인식의 “두 가지완전히 상이한 원천”으로 간주한다. 다른 한편 그는 범주의 연역에서 직관이 개념에 의해 통일됨으로써 개념이 대상의 실재성을 제공한다고 주장한다. 개념 속에 직관이 통일되어 있다는 이러한 주장에도 불구하고, 칸트는 이원론적 한계에 붙잡혀서 직관과 개념의 외적인 종합을 제시한다. 이 논문은 어떻게 헤겔이 직관과 개념의 관계를 재 고찰함으로써 이러한 칸트의 모순에서 벗어나는가를 해명한다. 헤겔은 칸트의 인식비판의 관점이 타당하지 않다는 판단에서 직관을 통합한 개념이라는 새로운 형이상학을 제시한다. 논문은 이 형이상학이 기존의 형이상학과 다르며, 칸트의 인식비판에 의해 비난 받을 것이 아니라, 오히려 칸트의 인식비판이 설명하지 못하는 대상들을 설명한다는 것을 보여준다. 이로써 헤겔의 시도는 칸트의 인식비판이 타당하지 못하다는 판단 위에서 인식비판이 지향하는 이성비판을 개념비판을 통해 제시하고 있다는 사실이 제시된다.
Kant``s dualism, that synthesizes empiricism and rationalism, tries to keep the balance between sensibility and understanding. Kant``s critique of cognition, which is based on this dualism, reveals the contradictions in his explaining of the relation between the sensible intuition and the notion of the understanding. On the one hand, Kant considers sensation and understanding, intuition and notion as "two quite different sources" of cognition. On the other hand, he says in the deduction of the category that the intuition ist unified by the notion and thereby the notion gives the object it``s reality. Despite of this argument of the intuition being unified in the notion, Kant shows an external synthesis of intuition and notion from the dualistic viewpoint. This paper demonstrates how Hegel gets out of Kant``s contradiction by rethinking of the relation between intuition and notion. According to his judgement that Kant``s critique of cognition is invalid, Hegel suggest a new metaphysics through the notion which integrate the intuition. This paper argues that his metaphysics is other than the former metaphysics and that it is not accused by Kant``s critique of cognition, but can explain objects which can not be explained by Kant``s critique of cognition. Hereby it turns out that Hegel carries out a critique of the notion for the sake of the critique of the reason according to his judgement, that Kant``s critique of the cognition is no more valid.
