직업 영역에 대한 ‘아비투스’적 탐색은 그 실제적, 이론적 유용성이자못 크다. 이를 가늠하기 위해 ‘아비투스’가 강조하는 계급·문화·구조세 요인이 직업의 주요 영역에서 어떻게 작동하는지 그 메커니즘을 구체적이고 체계적으로 파악할 필요가 있다. ‘아비투스’는 직업의 계급성뿐만 아니라 계급의 직업성도 조화롭게 포용해낼 수 있는 이론적 계기를 내재하고 있다. 직업 선택의 구조적 근원에 주목함으로써, ‘주체적 선택’의 환상 가능성도 심도 있게 파헤칠 수 있다. 직업 활동의 이중성뿐만 아니라 직업 활동과 이데올로기의 연관성 나아가 직업인의 자기반성 문제마저 전면적으로 주제화할 수 있는 이론적 폭발력도 지니고 있다. 나아가 직업위신 중심으로 직업 영역을 구성하면서도 독특한 방식으로 직업 자체의 실제적, 이론적 잠재력을 풍부하게 현실화할 수 있다.

The main purpose of this paper is to find out the implication of ``habitus`` for occupational philosophy. I guess that ``habitus`` has a good power of explanation and theoretical usefulness for it. For the sake of efficient conduct of these tasks, we need to question closely how ``habitus`` can be applicable to main themes in occupational philosophy. ``Habitus`` based upon cultural constructionism of society provides the way in which we can make an in-depth study of not only the occupational character of class but the class character of occupation. And through the uncovering structural roots of occupational choice, it breaks the illusion that we always behave our own will. Furthermore it has intrinsic possibilities to lead us into the study of the relations of occupational activities to ideologies and to self-examinations of the one attending to his work. Finally it does not miss an opportunity to meet the theoretical power of occupational activities even if it concentrates occupational prestiges.
