이 논문에서 필자는 “일상”으로의 패러다임 전회가 도시성 분석의 새로운 틀이 될 수 있을 뿐 아니라, 맑시즘과 페미니즘의 연대 가능성을 위한 이론적 단초를 제공할 수 있음을 주장하였다. 그리고 이를 성공적으로 수행하기 위해서 르페브르의 “일상” 개념을 페미니즘적으로 재구성하고자 하였다. 르페브르는 “일상”을 생산관계뿐 아니라 문화나 이데올로기까지도 포함하는 재생산 조건의 장으로 보았다. 그러나 필자는 르페브르의 이러한 의도가 좀 더 선명하게 부각되기 위해서는 페미니즘 논쟁에서 발전된 “사회적 재생산”의 개념을 도입할 필요가 있음을 논증하였다. 이 개념을 도입하게 되면 일상은 재생산과 생산이 맞물리는 장으로 이해될 수 있다는 것이다. 나아가 필자는 르페브르가 일상을 지속과 변화가 맞물리는 “반복”의 장으로 이해하고자 했다는 점에도 주목하였다. 그러나 르페브르는 도시 일상에서의 반복이 어떻게 생성과 연결되는지에 대한 답을 제시할 수 없었기에 일상이 일탈적 축제나 혁명과 같은 외부적인 것에 의해서만 변화될 수있다고 보았다. 따라서 필자는 주디스 버틀러의 “반복” 개념을 도입함으로써 일상이 탈맥락적으로 반복될 때 일상은 내적인 변화의 가능성을 안고 있는 것으로 이해될 수 있음을 보여주었다.

This essay aims to enrich Lefebvre’s concept of everyday life with the social and marxist feminist concept of ‘social reproduction’ and Judith Butler’s concept of ‘repetition.’ This will show a possibility of solidarity between marxism and feminism in the theory of everyday life. For this, I begin with an argument that Lefebvre tried to define “everyday” not only as a field of production but also of reproduction which includes human and life production, culture and ideology reproduction. So I argue that the concept of Lefebvre’s “everyday” needs to be elaborated through the feminist concept of ‘social reproduction’ in a broad sense. If this is the case, the marxist theory of everyday life can consider woman’s everyday life. Futhermore I argue that Lefebvre’s theory of everyday life is worthy of note, in the sense that he tried to consider “everyday” as a field of repetition through which the becoming appears. But Lefebvre seems not to be capable of answering to the question how change comes from the repetition. In contrast to that, he opposed everyday and repetition to revolution and festival. So I bring Butler’s concept of the ‘performative repetition’ and explain that everyday can be internally changed when it is repeated in an ex-cited context.
