This paper investigates the extended meaning of the phrase, including the somatic word “голова (Head)” in Russian and Bulgarian phrases. Humans understand the world phenomena through the sense of the body. Humans perceive the Head as the top point, starting point, container that possesses the space and the capacity. For this purpose, the author selects the 28 examples that contain the somatic word “голова” in Russian phrase dictionary and to compare them with Bulgarian counterparts. On the bases of the results, the author describes that Russian the somatic word “голова” has the same word “глава” and other somatic or non-somatic words like ум(reason), опит(experience) as the counterparts words. Also there are other examples that Russian голова translated by entirely other words or phrases(не бери в голову-не си го слагаN на сърце, в первую голову-най-напред). From the intercultural viewpoints, Russian prefers to use concrete object(in this case - head) than abstract objects or meaning words. On the contrary, Bulgarian prefers to use more abstract and diverse expressions in the speech act.
