이 연구는 교육대학교 학생을 중심으로 대학생이 대학에서 수행하는 글쓰기의 어려움과 그 원인을 특성을 분석하고 교육적 시사점을 찾는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이에 5개 교육대학교 1～3학년 학생 588명을 대상으로 설문조사를 하고 그 결과를 분석하였다. 교육대학교 학생들의 대부분은 대학 글쓰기를 경험하는 과정에서 어려움을 겪고 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 특히, 교육대학교 학생들은 ‘교수자의 의도와 성향 파악하기’를 가장 어렵다고 인식하고 있었으며, 계획하기, 내용생성하기, 내용 조직하기, 표현하기, 고쳐 쓰기 등 글을 쓰는 과정 전반에 걸쳐서도 일정 수준 이상의 어려움을 겪는 편이라고 인식하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 글쓰기에 어려움을 겪는 이유에 대해서는 글쓰기 경험 부족과 함께 체계적인 글쓰기 교육의 부족을 들었다. 이상과 같은 연구 결과를 바탕으로 이 연구는 교육대학교 글쓰기 교육 개선 방안에 대한 제언을 하였다.

This study aims to investigate the difficulty of college writing among the students at universities of education, analyze relevant characteristics, and find educational implications. Accordingly, a survey was conducted with 588 freshmen, sophomore, and junior students at five universities of education, and the data from the survey were analyzed. The results of analysis suggested that most students at universities of education have some difficulty in writing courses, and the difficulty over a certain level was found in all writing courses. In particular, students perceived that “determining the instructor’s intentions and inclinations” was most difficult, and listed the lack of systematic writing education as well as the lack of writing experience, as the causes of difficulty in writing.
