본고는 디지털 컨버전스 시대 문자 표현의 변화 양상을 살피고 그 국어교육적의미와 적용 가능성을 모색하는 것에 목적이 있다.이를 위하여 디지털 기술에 대한 인문학적 논의와 ‘상호 재매개’관점을 기반으로 문자의 변화 가능성에 초점을 두었다.우선 디지털 컨버전스에 대한 논의를 바탕으로 디지털 기술의 발전에 따른 의사소통의 변화 특징을 크게 세 가지로 정리하였다.또한 문자 표현의 변화 양상을 살펴 이들을 감각의 연합이라는 관점에서 문자의 공감각화로 포괄하였다.문자의 공감각적 표현 양식으로 촉발되는 문자의 공감각화는 문자의 기존 의미와 배치되지 않는다는 점에서 포용과 합(合)의 가치를 지향함을 밝혔으며,이를 토대로 국어교육에서 문자의 공감각화가 갖는 의미를 구술성과 문자성,이성과 감성,합리성과 직관성의 균형으로 논의하였다.이는 초등 국어교육의 표현측면에서 말하기와 쓰기의 통합,논리 표현과 정서 표현의 통합을 실현할 수 있는 관점이자 방법으로 기능할 수 있음을 논의하였다.

This study looks into a new aspect of character expression in the digital convergence era in order to search for Korean educational meaning and applicability of the new aspect. The study conducted a humanistic discussion on how communication would change depending on the improvement of digital technologies and made a comprehensive summary on the characteristics. In addition, the study categorized the recent changing patterns of character expression and the patterns were organized by the synesthesia process of the characters. As pointing out how the synesthesia process of the characters would correspond to the existing literacy, the study talked about how the value of acceptance and harmony should be pursued. The synesthesia process of the characters signifies the meaning related to the balances between orality and literacy, between reason and emotion and between rationality and immediacy. The study after all argued that the synesthesia process of the characters can work as perspectives and measures to help the field of elementary Korean language education with their integration of speaking with writing as well as of logical representation with emotional expression.
