본고는 현행 <한국어 교육과정>의 교육 대상과 내용 체계를 중심으로 문제점을 분석하고 개선 방향을 모색하는 것을 목적으로 한다.먼저 <한국어 교육과정>의 문제점을 분석한 결과,1)‘다문화 배경’이라는 기준에 의해 설정된 교육대상은 이질적인 학생들의 상황과 특성을 고려하지 못하고 한국어 교육의 대상과 목표를 불분명하게 만들고 있으며,2)‘생활 한국어’와 ‘학습 한국어’로 이원화된 내용 체계에서는 ‘학습 한국어’의 필요성과 현장 적용 가능성 측면에서 근본적인 재고가 필요하다는 점을 지적했다.이상의 논의를 바탕으로 본고에서는 <한국어 교육과정>의 교육 대상을 ‘한국어 학습 학생’으로 재설정하고 현재의 이원화된 내용 체계를 과제 중심적 접근과 언어 사회화의 개념을 도입하여 ‘학교 의사소통’을 위한 과제 중심적 체계로 재구성할 것을 제안했다.

The purpose of this study was to seek a improvement direction of the existing by analyzing its problems focusing on subject of education and system of content. First of all, this study found the following problems of ：1) Subjects of education set by criteria of ‘multicultural background’ didn’t consider the situations and characteristics of heterogeneous students and therefore obscured the subjects and goals of KSL education. 2) With reference to system of content dualized by ‘Korean language for living’ and ‘Korean language for learning’, it is doubtful whether ‘Korean language for learning’ is necessary and applicable to education field. Based on the discussion so far, this study suggested resetting the subjects of education from ‘multicultural background students’ to ‘Korean language learning students’ and reorganizing the system of content from the existing dualized system to ‘task-centered’ system for ‘school communication’ by introducing the task-centered approach and concept of language socialization.
