본 연구에서는 청소년의 진로개발이 그들의 행복하고 의미 있는 삶과 무관하지 않다는 점에서 진로개발의 중요성을 인식하고, 개념 및 이론을 중심으로 논의되었던 진로개발과 웰빙의 관계를 실증적으로 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 서울, 인천, 경기, 충남, 제주의 5개 시·도에거주하는 중·고등학생 청소년 716명의 설문조사 자료를 사용하였으며, 구조방정식모형을 통해 분석하였다. 연구의 결과, 맥락주의 및 생태체계 관점에서 개념화한 청소년 진로개발의 구성요인들(진로개발역량, 진로관련 가족영향, 진로개발역량 및 진로관련 가족영향 간 상호작용, 목표지향적 행동)과 웰빙 간의 직접관계는 진로개발역량 및 진로관련 가족영향 간 상호작용을 제외하고 모두 웰빙에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 진로개발역량, 진로관련 가족영향, 그리고 이 두 변인의 상호작용이 웰빙에 미치는 영향에 있어 목표 지향적 행동이 간접적으로 매개하는 효과도 확인할 수 있었다. 아울러 이와 같은 청소년의 진로개발과 웰빙에 관한 구조적 관계는 학교급과 성별에 따라 차이가 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 결론에서는 이상의 결과를 토대로 청소년의 개인적 특성과 환경을 고려한 진로개입 방안을 모색하고, 연구의 함의를 도출하였으며, 후속연구를 위한 제언을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is a practical validation of the relationship between youths’ career development and well-being. From the aspects of contextualism and ecological system perspective, youth career development was conceptualized. Composition factors of career development include career development competency, career-related family influence, interaction between career development competency and career-related family influence, and goal-oriented activity. The research subjects are 716 middle and high school students in Korea. The data for the study were analyzed using a Structural Equation Modeling. The major results of the were as follows; First, indicate the fact that when youth’s level of career development competency, career-related familial influence and goal-oriented activity was higher, the level of youth’s well-being was higher as well. Second, the mediated effect of goal-oriented activity was statistically significant in all the channels. Third, the structural relationship between the career development and well-being was different by the school levels and gender. In the part of conclusion, the implication and limitation of this study and the suggestions for follow-up studies were presented, based on study findings.
