비디오 모델링 기법은 장애학생들의 사회성 및 의사소통 기술, 기능적 기술, 그리고 행동기능을 중재하기 위해 활용된 매우 효과적인 중재 기법이다. 본 연구의 목적은 국내에서 이루어진 비디오 모델링을 중재로 활용한 실험연구 중 단일대상연구를 조사하여 메타 분석함으로써, 중재의 효과성을 검증하고, 앞으로 효과적인 교육프로그램을 개발하고 적용하는데 필요한 기초 자료를 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 본 연구는 최근 국내에서 발표된 비디오 모델링 기법과 관련된 논문을 조사하고, 분석논문 선정기준에 따라 단일대상연구 설계로 실시한 국내 16편(학위논문 9편, 학술논문 7편)의 실험논문을 최종 분석대상으로 선정하였다. 선행연구 분석은 3가지 분석변인의 영역에 따라서 총 7개의 분석변인(연구 대상, 실험환경, 실험설계, 중재유형, 목표기술, 중재효과, 유지 및 일반화 효과)으로 심층적으로 분석되었다. 메타분석 한 결과를 살펴보면 중재(Median PND = 99.5%), 유지(Median PND = 100%) 및 일반화(Median PND = 100%)가 모두 PND 중위수 값이 90% 이상으로써 중재 효과가 큰 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 본 연구의 분석결과는 7개의 분석변인에 따라 구체적으로 제시하였으며, 그 결과는 근거기반 실제의 개발과 활용 관점에서 논의하였다.

Video modeling is one of the effective intervention strategies for addressing social-communication skills, functional skills, and behavioral functioning in children with disabilities. The purpose of this study was to meta-analysis the research literature of video modeling interventions of students with disabilities and to provide information and suggestions on video modeling interventions for future research and practices at schools. A systematic search of the literature from 2000 to 2010 revealed 16 experimental studies published in special education within South Korea. This study analyzed the 16 selected studies in terms of 7 analytical variables: participants, research settings, experimental design, target skills, type of intervention, effects of intervention, maintenance and generation. Results indicated a highly positive effect of video modeling interventions (median PND=99.5%). High maintenance (median PND=100%) and generalization effects (median PND = 100%)were also revealed in the reviewed studies. The findings of this study were described in detail based on the 7 analytic variables. The implications of the findings and recommendations for practice and future research on video modeling intervention were presented.
