淸代 石成金이 편찬한 『傳家寶』는 권선징악적 훈계와 격언, 좌우명을 모은 勸善書이면서, 詩文, 俚語, 趣聞, 小曲 등의 문장과 각종 생활상식, 잡다한 지식의 내용이 담겨 있는 이른바 日用類書, 혹은 通俗類書라 불리는 실용 목적의 민간백과전서이기도 하다. 『傳家寶』에는 저자 石成金의 초상화, 箴言을 博古器物 도안 속에 적어 넣은 ‘眞益箋’, 여가와 취미의 장면들을 묘사한 ‘快樂圖’, 그리고 ‘快樂圖’와 짝을 이루어 화면의 내용을 다시 압축적으로 보여주는 다양한 기물 도안이 삽화로 들어 있다. 본 논문은 『傳家寶』의 삽화를 통해 명청대 출판시장에서 博古器物의 도안과 골동품 취미, 수집 취미가 갖고 있던 문화적 위상이 어떤 것이었는지를 살피고 염가대중본의 시대에 서적 삽화가 어떤 방식으로 문인계 층의 지식과 취향을 독서대중에게 복제, 전달할 수 있었는지를 살펴보았다.

Shi Cheng-Jin(石成金)’s Chuanjiabao(傳家寶) is a book encouraging to do Buddhistic good, and an anthology of popular poems or songs, also is a kind of daily encyclopedia that collecting miscellaneous knowledges and entertaining short stories, or a guide book which giving the art of living. In this complicated book, we could find out the considerable illustrations the portrait of author Shi Cheng-Jin, images of various antiquities which designed for practical watchword paper on the wall, and the ‘pictures of daily pleasure(快樂圖)’ which describe idealized leisure and hobby of literati. These illustrations explain us how the cheap books imitate and reproduce the taste of literati in the context of commercial printing culture of Ming and Qing dynasties.
