In this paper, we examine the transformation process of the central motifs of the legend of Mmuyoung Tower "Mmuyoung Tower " of Hyun Jin-geon, and the value of Korea discovered by Japanese research group and a relationship with a Japanese translation. The basic structure of the legend of Mmuyoung Tower was embodied in "The Legand of Gyeongju" translated by Osaka Kintaro and the nature of the characters, naming, the strengthening of narrative structure were embodied in Hamaguchi Ryoko``s "Play Muyoung Tower Story" during the colonial period. Hyun Jin-geon``s took over the basic structure, character, motifs of thouse in "Mmuyoung Tower" and was to implement a nationalism by setting a hero to Baekje people. However, Hyun Jin-geon``s nationalism is consistent with the colonial ideology of Japan. As described above, in the process of transformation of Korean tradition literary, we could glimpse the politics inherent in the colonial translation.
