본고에서는 언어사용에 기초한 의미 기술의 방법에 관하여 유의어「支援/サポ-ト/手助け」를 예로 논하였다. (1) 현대일본어 균형코퍼스「BCCWJ」를 이용하여 세 단어의 사용빈도의 차이를 확인할 수 있었다. (「支援」(83.5%)>「サポ-ト」(13.0%)>「手助け」(3.5%)) 이 결과는 어휘교육에 있어서 학습단어를 선정하거나 도입의 순서를 정할 때 중요한 지침이 된다. (2)「支援」은 홍보지, 백서, 법률, 국회회의록 등의 공적 장르에서의 빈도가높은 반면, 「サポ-ト」는 「知惠袋」「ブログ」 등의 웹에서 다용된다. 이러한 사용 장르의 차이는 격식 차린 장면에서는 「支援」을, 일상적이고 친숙한 장면에서는 「サポ-ト」를 사용하는 것이 적합하다는 유의어 지도의 힌트를 제공해준다. (3)의미적인 차이는 세 단어의 지원 대상에 나타난다. 장애자ㆍ노인ㆍ난민ㆍ여성 등 사회적 약자의 자립이나 재건에 관한 「支援」, 청년ㆍ가족의 지원이나 제품에 대한 서비스로서의 「サポ-ト」, 개인ㆍ소규모 집단의 문제해결에 관한「手助け」와 같이 구별된다.

In this paper I discussed a method of semantic description based on language use in the example of SIEN, SAPOTO, TEDASUKE. (1)First, I researched the frequency of three words in contemporary Japanese using 「BCCWJ」(Balanced corpus of Contemporary Written Japanese), found that three words are used in the following order: SIEN(83.5%)>SAPOTO(13.0%)> TEDASUKE(3.5%). This is an important guideline on the decision of basic word selection and introduction in Japanese language education. (2)SIEN is more used in public genre of PR brochure, white book, legislation, national assembly records. on the other hand SAPOTO is mostly used in web texts of Yahoo blog, as well as PR brochure. This genre difference provides us with an synonym educational hint that SIEN is more used in formal context, on the other hand SAPOTO is more used in familiar scene. (3)Semantic differences among three words are appeared in the meaning object of each word. SIEN means a helping of self-help and reconstruction of second-class citizen such as the disabled, senior citizen, refugee, woman, student. SAPOTO means a helping of young person and family, and also means after-sales service. TEDASUKE means a problem-solving of individual or small group.
