정보 텍스트에 대한 평가는 정보화 사회에서 필수적인 읽기 목적이다. 하지만 국어교육의 비판적 읽기 교육은 설득이나 문학 텍스트, 또는 설득적 성격이 강한 정보 텍스트를 주로 활용하고 있어 ‘정보 텍스트를 읽고 평가하기’에 대한 교육이 부족한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 초등학생의 정보 텍스트 평가에 대하여 텍스트의 실제성을 중심으로 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 실제성에 차이가 있는 텍스트에 대한 초등학생의 평가 반응을 수집, 분석하고 그 유형을 살펴보았다. 연구 결과, 정보 텍스트에 대한 평가 반응은 실제성이 낮은 텍스트보다 실제성이 높은 텍스트에서 더 많이 나타났다. 그리고 학생들은 정보 텍스트를 읽으면서 난도에 대한 평가, 정보 전달 효과에 대한 평가, 다양한 양식의 배치와 효과에 대한 평가, 텍스트 형식의 실제성에 대한 평가를 실천하고 있음을 확인하였다. 또한, 자신의 판단 근거로 정보 텍스트의 실제성과 관련된요소를 언급하는 경우가 많았다. 본 연구를 통해 초등학생들의 정보 텍스트에 대한 평가 반응이 다양한 양상으로 나타난다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

Evaluation of informational text is a important capability for selecting high－quality informations and comprehension, so the important object of teaching reading in the Information Age. However, elementary school students frequently are read persuasive text or literary text in textbook for critical reading. So students lack experience about reading informational text. This paper investigated elementary student’s responses when they read informational text. For the purposes, students read two text that different authenticity, and they wrote about thinking when they read. The results of this study, evaluative responses are more sixth grade student’s responses than third grade student’s responses, and boy’s more than girl’s responses, and when students read high authenticity text more than low authenticity text. Types of responses are the evaluation of text difficulty, information transfer effect, text design, authenticity of the text. Findings and discussions are elementary school students have various lenses, and authenticity is important factor when the evaluation of the informational text. When providing the informational text for the reading education, various factors：content in text, text structure, and text design are to be considered.
