어휘 교육과 관련하여, 한국어교육 현장의 교사들은 어떻게 하면 좀 더 효율적이고 체계적인 어휘 교육이 될지, 학습자들이 어떻게 하면 폭넓은 어휘능력을 가질 수 있게 될지 등에 대해 많은 고민을 하게 된다. 이와 더불어 학습자가 학습해야 하는 어휘의 양과 어휘를 제시하는 방법은 교사로서 항상 고민해야 할 문제들이다. 이 연구는 초급 단계 한국어 학습자들을 위한 것으로 이들이 한국어 교재에서 특정 주제 중 ‘물건 사기’와 관련된 거래 어휘를 학습하고 활용하고자 할 때, 좀 더 체계적이고 명확한 기준에 의해 제시된 어휘들을 접하면서 효과적인 어휘 학습을 할 수 있도록 하는 데 목적을 두며 논의를 진행하였다. 본고가 제시한 어휘장은 한국어 학습자들이 어휘를 접할 때 유사한 어휘들로 묶인 형태, 혹은 서로 다른 영역에 속한 어휘들을 하나로 묶은 형태에서 벗어나고자 하였다.

The objective of this study is to establish a lexical field of terms related to the topic, ‘Buying Things’, so that beginner level learners of the Korean language can learn vocabulary efficiently. The lexical field suggested in this study is differentiated from other types of lexicons that list similar vocabularies or words in different areas all together. It is thought that vocabularies need to be presented based on clear standards before vocabulary learners, and this study is of significance in that regard. As a lot more discussions are conducted in the future, efforts will be put forth into coming up with education plans and directions for those who learn Korean as a second language.
