국·내외 다양한 스타트업의 등장과 새로운 비즈니스의 성장 속에서 디자인의 역할과 그 기능은 과거와는 차별적으로 그 중요성이 확장되어 가고 있다. 과거 디자인이 마케팅과 브랜딩에 편향적으로 집중되어 있었다면 현대의 다양한 스타트업 산업에서는 비즈니스의 모델 기획 및 개발에서 부터 품질 관리및 수익 창출에 있어서의 모든 전과정 안에서 디자인은 보다 주체적이고 본질적인 역할을 수행하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 더욱이 디지털 시대에 들어서면서 스타트업의 성장과 함께 UX디자인의 가치와 수요 또한 함께 강조되었으며 더불어 디자이너들이 직접 스타트업 창업을 하는 사례들 또한 늘어나고있는 추세이다. 이러한 경향과 함께 다양한 스타트업 회사들에서는 앞 다투어능력 있는 UX디자이너들을 고용하기 시작했으며 수많은 성공한 스타트업 기업들에서는 UX디자인을 비즈니스의 성장과 성공의 핵심 역량으로 판단하고 훌륭한 디자인 최고책임자들을 영입하는 사례들 또한 흔히 볼 수 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 다양한 스타트업들 중에서도 최근의 혁식적이고 창의적인 중·소스타트업들의 활발한 움직임을 알아보고 UX디자인의 핵심 과정에 비추어 성공적인 스타트업 비즈니스들의 경향과 사례들을 분석하고 UX디자인의 가치와 중요성을 검증한다. 이를 통해 현대의 창의적이고 혁신적인 스타트업 비즈니스 모델들에서 나타나는 UX디자이너와 UX디자인의 본질적인 발전 방향을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다.

The relationship between UX design and Startup business is becoming more important as design creates critical value for business. In the past, design plays as one part of business strategy that design was focused on marketing and branding. From recent startup businesses, role of design becomes a holistic process to bring new business ideas, help shape innovative business model and execute products. After the boom in creative startups with rapidly changing technologies in the last few years, value and needs of UX design are growing enormously. Under the influence of this trend, more designers have started to found new start-up companies. And companies started to hire many UX designers very actively and there are many examples of companies that have been changed dramatically. Consumers have become sophisticated users and their demands and expectations are growing. Marketers are scrambling to find out how to adapt to a new digital environment. The main consideration to build successful business strategies should befocusing on users. In this thesis, the differences of each UX design process element and method are analyzed and the characteristics of recent creative startups are illustrated with successful stories and cases.
