“Genus-book of Parallel prose”，means a writing form to edit encyclopedia. From collecting allusions point, it belongs to Genus-books; while from organizing writing point, it is regarded as parallel prose. These documents are represented by Longjinfengsuipan in early Tang dynasty and Shileifu in early Song dynasty. The paper focuses on Genus-book of Parallel prose and discusses its process of origin, development and declining.
