Those paralleled prose composed during Southern Dynasties are mostly having a feature in common that in order to create novelty of literacy, writers tends to separate or abbreviate words when referring to classical allusions. A situation could be obviously observed that the connections between sentences and paragraphs are always implicational. This rhetoric device, as is called “Qian Qi Nei Zhuan” by pre-modern literati, endows readability with difficulty and otherwise creating a sense of aesthetic peculiarity. This thesis tries to analyse some of Ren Fang’s works as example, thus inducing some conclusions as a preliminary inquiry into this issue.
