이 글은 구체적인 언어 사용에 해당하는 담화의 기능이 무엇이고 그 유형에는 어떤 것이 있는지를 살펴보고자 했다. 담화는 발신자가 특정한 장면에서 특정한 목적을 가지고 어떤 의도를 수신자에게 전달하고자 표현하는 하나 이상의 발화의 연쇄를 말하는데, 이를 통하여 발신자가 구체적인 의사소통 상황에서 드러내고자하는 목적이나 의도를 담화 기능으로 보았다. 그 유형은 담화의 구성 요소인 화자(의 심리 상태), 세계(와의 관련성), 청자(의 특정성 및 심리 변화)를 고려하여 친교적 기능, 표현적 기능, 선언적 기능, 제보적 기능, 설득적 기능, 책무적 기능으로 분류하였다.
This paper elucidated the discourse function and the types. Discourse is a chain of one or more utterances to convey a sender`s intention to a recipient with a specific purpose in a particular scene. And it is discourse function that the purpose or intention was revealed by sender in the particular communication situation. This paper classified the types of discourse functions with relationship expressive, emotional expressive, declarative, informative, persuasive and commissive function.
