Function and Effect of Korean Language Education for Convergence Education

On the technical aspect, convergence is a result of a digital technology innovation. From the aspect of creating knowledge and experience, convergence could be seen as a research methodology of post-modern. Such cognizance is in accordance with the futuristic and ecologic forecasts. Therefore, the Korean language education needs to put efforts to evolve into a convergence education, and the new epistemology on the Korean language education. The texts of the Korean language education will evolve with such a speed with the digital technology. The multi modal media text would take a great importance in the Korean language education. Such texts have a strong characteristic of convergence. Texts with a characteristic of convergence means a qualitative evolution of texts. That is, high consideration on the characteristics of convergence should be made in the aspects of text contents, form and application. Of course, such changes dissolve the previous thoughts on the congested contents of the Korean language education. Therefore, more flexible approach is required for the ``contents and application`` of the Korean language education. That is, an effort to see the contents of the Korean education from ``academic system`` to ``practical phenomenon``. To extend the convergence function of the Korean language education, more educational interactions between the Korean language education and other subjects are required. Therefore, a strategy to allow the Korean language education to have ``boundary flexibility`` with other areas is necessary. Moreover, not only handling the Korean language education from the school system, but also its interest should be extended to the outside of school, this is because to prepare for the potential consumption of the Korean language education outside schools. The Korean language education outside school is done is a method of emphasizing on the experientiality. The Korean language education based on experience has very close relationship with the daily life, so convergence thinking and practice are required to strengthen the position of the Korean language education. To satisfy such, the study methods to study the Korean language education should be more diverse and pursue the convergence between study methods.
