본 연구는 유아교사의 미디어 중독과 정신건강에 대한 경향성을 파악하고, 이에 따른 관계성과 영향력을 확인하여 유아교사의 긍정적이고 건강한 삶의 확립을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 본 연구의 연구대상은 부산광역시내에 소재하고 있는 유아교육기관에 재직 중인 유아교사 230명으로 선정하였다. 연구에 사용한 측정도구는 한국정보화진흥원(2011a, 2011b)에서 개발한 성인 인터넷 중독 자가진단 간략형 척도(KS-A)와 스마트폰 중독자가진단 척도, 정신건강 진단척도를 사용하였고, 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유아교사의 인터넷 중독 경향성은 보통 이상으로 나타났으며, 스마트폰 중독 경향성과 정신건강은 보통 이하로 나타났다. 둘째, 유아교사의 미디어 중독 경향성과 정신건강의 총점 및 하위영역 간의 상관관계는 유의미하게 나타났다. 셋째, 유아교사의 미디어 중독 경향성이 정신건강에 미치는 영향력을 살펴본 결과, 인터넷 및 스마트폰 중독 경향성은 정신건강에 유의미한 영향력을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 정신건강의 하위요인인 불안, 우울, 충동성, 공격성에도 유의미한 영향력을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이를 토대로 본 연구에서는 유아교사의 미디어 중독 경향성과 정신건강에 대한 인식과 관계를 중심으로 중요성과 필요성을 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study was to examine pervasive trends in the media addiction and mental health of early childhood teachers, the relationship of the two variables and the influence of the former on the latter in an effort to provide information on how to help early childhood teachers lead a more positive and healthy life. The subjects in this study were 230 selected teachers in early childhood education institutions located in the city of Busan. The instruments used in this study were the National Information Society Agency(2011)``s Internet Addiction Proneness Scale for Adults-Short Form(KS-A), Smartphone Addiction Proneness Scale and Mental Health Diagnostic Scale. The findings of the study were as follows: First, the Internet addiction proneness of the early childhood teachers was at a moderate or higher level, and their smartphone addiction proneness and mental health proneness were at a moderate or lower level. Second, the media addiction total scores of the early childhood teachers had a significant correlation with their total scores in mental health, and that was also the case for the subfactors of media addiction and mental health. Third, as a result of analyzing the influence of the media addiction of the early childhood teachers on mental health, Internet addiction and smartphone addiction were found to have exercised a significant influence on mental health, and the two variables were found to have had a significant impact on anxiety, depression, impulsiveness and aggressiveness as well, which were the subfactors of mental health. Given the findings of the study on the awareness of the early childhood teachers on media addiction and mental health and the relationship of the two, the importance of media addiction and mental health and the necessity of their prevention were discussed.
