본 연구의 목적은 집단상담에서 집단원 사이에 일어나는 전이 현상을 분석하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 서울소재 모 대학의 집단상담 프로그램에 참여한 학부생과 대학원생 107명을 대상으로 집단상담에서의 대인관계 지각 왜곡을 사회관계모형을 통해 분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 집단상담에서 집단원들은 타인지각과 메타지각 모두에서 왜곡 수준이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 메타지각과 타인지각에서의 대상자 효과 간의 상관은 통제 축과 관련해서 서로 상반되는 하위척도 간의 상관이 높았으며 친애 축과 관련해서는 같은 하위척도 간의 상관이 높았다. 가령 다른 집단원들이 자신을 주도적으로 지각하리라 믿는 사람은 일반적으로 타인을 순종적으로 지각하는 경향이 있었으며, 다른 집단원들이 자신을 우호적인 사람으로 보고 있다고 믿는 사람들은 일반적으로 타인을 우호적인 사람으로 지각하는 경향이 있었다. 셋째, 집단원들의 메타지각과 일반메타지각 간의 상관을 살펴본 결과 ‘우호’를 제외한 동일한 하위척도 간 상관이 높게 나타났다. 이는 집단상담에서 집단원들에 대한 메타지각이 일상생활에서 주요 타인에 대한 메타지각을 유의하게 반영함을 의미한다. 이와 관련하여 시사점, 제한점, 그리고 후속 연구 방향에 대해 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate transference phenomena in group counseling sessions. For this, 107 data of undergraduate and graduate students in Seoul were gathered from a group counseling program and impact messages among group members were analyzed using Social Relations Model which is capable of dealing with reciprocal and multiphasic characteristics of interpersonal perception. The results were as follows: Firstly, both other-perception and meta-perception were shown to be considerably distorted. Second, with regard to the ‘control’ dimension, correlation coefficients between other-perception and meta-perception which are dissimilar with each other were high, while with regard to the ‘affiliation’ dimension, high correlation coefficients were reported for subscales which share similar characteristics. Third, correlation coefficients between meta-perception for group members and meta-perception for generalized others were high for similar subscales except ‘affiliation’ dimension. This implies that meta-perception in group counseling sessions reflects well meta-perception in daily life. Implication, limitation, and future direction of the study are discussed.
