이 논문 직업기초능력으로서 의사소통능력을 검토하고 대학에서 의사소통교육의 방향에 대해 논의한 것이다. 현대인에게 직업 활동은 생계수단이기도 하지만 자아를 실현하는 방편이기도 하다. 대부분의 사람들이 특정 조직에 소속되어 직업 활동을 수행하는 현대 사회의 특성을 고려할 때 직업기초능력으로서 의사소통능력 교육도 대학의 교육 영역으로 포함되어야 할 것이다. NCS에서 제작 배포한 자료는 학습자가 사례를 통해 상황을 이해하고 쉽게 따라할 수 있는 지침으로 활용할 수 있으나 대학 졸업생에게 요구되는 정보의 종합 및 판단 능력을 향상시키는 자료로 활용하기 위해서는 자료의 보완이 필요하다고 판단된다. 대학에서 교육은 취업을 위한 교육과 취업 후 업무 수행을 위한 교육이 함께 이루어질 필요가 있다. 전자는 자기소개서와 면접을 대비한 교육으로 지원하고자 하는 직무를 분석하고 해당 직무에 적합한 경험을 연결하여 효과적으로 표현하는 방법에 초점을 두어야 할 것이다. 취업 후 업무 수행을 위한 교육은 직업 생활에 안정적으로 적응하는 데 도움이 될 수 있어야 할 것이다. 그러기 위해서는 구체적인 지식 뿐 아니라 의사소통의 원리 및 요소에 대한 내용과 적절한 의사소통의 판단 근거로 작동되는 사회문화적 맥락에 대한 교육도 포함되어야 할 것이다.
The purpose of this study is to examine communicative competency as basic workplace skills and discuss the directions of communication education in universities. To contemporaries, occupational activity is not only a means to live but also a way of actualizing themselves. Since most people are affiliated to a particular organization and performing their job activity in this contemporary society, education for communicative competency as basic workplace skills should be included in one of the education areas in universities. The material designed and distributed by NCS can be used as a guideline for learners to understand and follow a situation easily through examples, but it still needs to be complemented partly in order to be used as material to improve skills to synthesize information and make a judgment demanded for university graduates. Education in universities should include not only education for getting a job but education for job performance after being hired. The former is the education to write a statement of purpose or prepare for an interview, and it should focus on analyzing the job they want to apply for, connect experiences appropriate for the job, and express oneself effectively. Education for job performance after being hired should help them adapt to work life stably. To realize it, the education should include not just detailed knowledge and contents about the principles and elements of communication but also socio-cultural context operated as the ground to judge proper communication.
