본고는 필사본 고전소설 < 쌍열옥소삼봉 >에 나타난 갈등의 전모에 주목하여, 그 구성 방식을 분석함으로써 작품에 나타난 작자의식을 밝히고자 하였다. < 쌍열옥소삼봉 >은 위명과 양옥소가 천정연분으로 결연한 후, 황제가 바뀌면서 발생한 절의 갈등으로 인해 이별과 만남을 반복하다가 세 번째에 이르러 화합하게 된다는 내용의 작품이다. 선행연구에서는 대체로 남녀 기연(奇緣)의 서사구조에 충절의식이라는 내적 주제의식이 결합한 작품으로 파악해 왔다. 그렇지만 충절의식이라는 당위적 도덕만으로 이 작품의 성격을 규정한다면복잡한 서사적 장치들을 충분히 검토하지 않은 채 지나치게 단순화하는 결과가될 것이다. 따라서 본고에서는 기존에 논의되어 왔던 주제에서 벗어나고자 했다. 우선 갈등의 구성 방식을 다자(多者)의 참여, 대등한 사건의 인과적 연쇄, 질서 이탈을 통한 갈등 해소 방식이라는 세 가지 측면에서 고찰하였다. 그 결과를바탕으로 새로운 각도에서 작품에 내재되어 있는 작자의식을 도출하는 것을 목표로 논의를 진행하였다. 이때 작자의 인식범위에 있는 시대는 작품의 향유연대로 추정되는 18세기부터 20세기까지의 조선 후기 사회로 전제하였다. 이에 따라 < 쌍열옥소삼봉 >에서 포착되는 작자의식의 면면을 정리하면 다음과같다. 첫째, 현실이 반드시 올바른 도리대로 운영되지는 않지만 그럴수록 신념이숭고한 가치를 지닌다는 이상적 관점이다. 둘째, 불의가 힘을 행사하는 상황 속에서 어떠한 질서에 균열이 발생할 경우, 이는 또 다른 질서의 균열로 이어지면서 사회 혼란을 초래한다는 인식이다. 셋째, 혼란스러운 사회 전체의 개혁을 꾀하기보다는 현실적으로 연대 가능한 범위의 집단을 보전하고자 하는 가족주의적지향이다.
This paper analyzes the configuration especially focuses on the whole aspect of the conflict appeared in the transcribed classic novel < Sanglyeloksosambong >, was to investigate the author consciousness in works. In < Sanglyeloksosambong >, the man and woman protagonists(We-myeong and Yang-okso) were seperated since their fate given by the heaven. The conflict caused by the enthronement of Emperor made them disperse and reunite again twice, however, they lived in conjugal harmony at last. Most of previous researches have been determined the novel as combination of narrative structure that special fate(奇緣) and inner consciousness the loyalty. However, defining the result of this work just by nature of loyalty thatnormal moral consciousness will overly simplify various narrative skills. Therefore, this paper will get away from the kind of subject that has been discussed previously. This paper investigates the configuration structure of three dimensions; the involvement of multilateral configurations, equal occurrences in the causal chain, and methods of resolving conflicts through the break of order. Based on the results, this paper derives the consciousness inherent in the work at a new angle that was conducted to discuss the goal. The period range is limited from 18th to 20th century, late Joseon Dynasty, estimated that the novel was widely read by public. Summarization of the ritual aspects of the author identified in this paper are as follows. First, the author of < Sanglyeloksosambong > showed ideal viewpoints such as the real world does not necessarily operated by justifiableprinciples but strong beliefs have the noble values. Second, small failure of the rules or justice causes more crack that confused all over the society at the absurd times in which force is exerted than rules. At last, it shows family-oriented intention that is not try to revolutionize the whole society but preserves the group that practically organizable.
