이 연구에서는 학교에서 구현되는 이상적인 융복합 교육을 학교문화예술교육으로 보았다. 그런데 학교문화예술교육의 개념과 관련한 선행연구 및 학교문화예술교육의 운영 실태를 통해 ``각 예술 분야의 특수성만을 강조한 점, 각 분야간의 상호 소통과 연계 부재, 문화역량 함양이라는 목표 부재, 학습자의 자기이해와 성장적 측면 간과``와 같은 문제점을 발견할 수 있었다. 이에 이러한 문제점을 보완하여 융복합 교육으로서의 학교문화예술교육의 개념을 정립하였다. 특히 ``문화 역량``의 개념을 재개념화하고 ``문학 소통 능력``의 개념 정립을 토대로 문학 기반 학교문화예술교육이란 무엇인지 그 의미를 탐색하였다. 이 연구에서는 융복합 교육으로서 학교문화예술교육의 개념을 밝히고, 미래 역량으로 요구되는 사회문화적 소통능력의 중요성에 착한하여 문학 기반 학교문화예술교육의 의미를 탐색해보았다는 데서 의의를 찾을 수 있을 것이다.

This study considered school culture and arts education realized in schools as ideal convergence education. Through advanced studies related to the concept of school culture and arts education and operation realities of school culture and arts education, however, this study found problems such as ``emphasis only on the distinct characteristics of each artistic field, absence of mutual communication and connection between fields, absence of objective to cultivate cultural competence and overlooking of learners` self-understanding and growth``. Thus, this study established the concept of school culture and arts education as convergence education by compensating such problems. Especially, this study reconceptualized the concept of ``cultural competence`` and searched for the meaning of literature-based school culture and arts education on the basis of the establishment of the concept of ``literary communication ability``. This study is considered significant in the way that it determined the concept of school culture and arts education as convergence education and searched for the meaning of literature-based school culture and arts education based on the sociocultural communication ability which is demanded as future capability.
