이 글에서는 국어교육 관련 연구 논문의 사례에서 연구 방법이 타당하면서 신뢰가 있게 사용되었는지를 비판적으로 고찰하고, 타당하고 신뢰가 있는 연구 방법을 적용하기 위한 대안을 제시하였다. 연구 방법의 문제점으로는 통계 숫자의 믿음에 빠져서 잘못된 비교 단위를 사용하는 것, 논문집의 분량이라는 덫에 걸려서 제시하여야 할 연구 기초 자료, 필드 노트 등의 자료가 부족하다는 점, 선행 이론 검토에서 연구 방법론의 핵심을 놓쳐서 기존 연구의 잘못된 인용을 그대로 하는 것, 개별 논문과 분석 틀에 대한 검증 없이 ``종합``이라는 유혹에 사로잡혀 분석에 대한 단위의 차이를 검증하지 못한 점을 제시하였다. 그리고 연구 방법론적인 함정을 빠져나오기 위한 대안으로 연구 논문 심사 체제를 강화해야 하는 점, 석·박사 과정에서 연구 방법론과 관련된 전공 필수 교과목을 개설해야 한다는 점, 학회 주관의 연구 방법론 세미나와 워크숍을 개최해야 한다는 점을 제시하였다.

In this study, I critically considered if methods were validly and reliably used in the cases of research on Korean language education and presented a plan for applying valid and reliable methods. The problems of research methodology：it had wrong comparison units because of statistics, presented limited data, such as basic data and field notes, which needed to be presented as appendixes, taking the volume of the collection of theses into account, had wrong quotations from literature because the key to research methodology was missed in literature review, and failed to test differences in the unit for analysis, focusing on ``synthesis``, without any test of the individual theses and analytic framework. It is necessary to reinforce the thesis examination system, establish required major subjects related to research methodology in master`s and doctor`s course, and hold seminars and workshops regarding research methodology under the supervision of a Korean language education association.
