많은 공공기관과 기업들이 전자문서를 이용하고 있으며 자체적으로 전자문서관리시스템을 운영하고 있다. 그러나 최근 전자문서의 범위는 지식, 정보, 콘텐츠를 포함하는 것으로 확대되어가고 있다. 또한 사용자들은 전자문서의 공유 및 협업에 대한 요구가 증가되는 한편, 모바일과 사물인터넷 등으로 데이터의 양은 급증하고 있다. 이러한 대규모의 데이터를 처리하며 IT 자원을 효율적으로 관리해주는 클라우드 컴퓨팅이 활성화되고 있다. 그리하여 본 논문에서는 클라우드 환경에서 자동화 기술을 통해 IT 자원을 상황에 맞게 조절하고, 시스템의 확장 및 축소가 가능한 전자문서관리에 대해서 연구하였다. 또한 클라우드 환경에서 스토리지 관리 기법과 전자문서의 체계적인 복제본 관리기술 등에 대해서 제안하였다.

Many public institutions and companies have been utilizing a lot of electronic documents and have been operating electronic document management systems on their own. However, the scope of the recent electronic documents is becoming enlarged to include knowledge, information, contents, etc. In addition, users have an increasing demand for sharing and collaborating the electronic documents. With the recent advance of mobile and Internet of Things(IoT) technologies, furthermore, the size of data are increasing very rapidly and tremendously. In order to manage a huge amount of data, cloud computing technology has been raving up more and more, which can handle IT resources efficiently. Thus, we have studied the electronic document management system which is possible to expand and to collapse to suit users`` needs and IT resources automatically in cloud environments. In addition, we propose an efficient storage management system and a systematic replica management technology of electronic documents in cloud environments.
