이 연구의 목적은 중학생의 학교생활만족도에 영향을 미치는 학교 측면의 요인 탐색하는 데에 있다. 이 연구는 한국교육고용패널 자료를 분석대상으로 삼고 위계적 선형 모형(HLM)을 활용하여 분석하였다. 구체적인 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 중학생의 학교생활만족도에 영향을 미치는 변인이 학생에게만 있는 것이 아니라 학교에 따라 차이가 있음을 알수 있었다. 둘째, 학교장의 지도성과 교사가 인식한 학교장 지도성이 높음에 따라 학생의 학교생활만족도도 높은 것은 아니나 학교 시설에 대한 만족도가 높으면 학생의 학교생활만족도가 높게 나왔다. 셋째, 학생의 교우관계와 학교생활만족도와의 관련성은 학교에 따라 차이가 없었지만 교과목 만족도와 학교생활만족도와의 관련성은 학교에 따라 차이가 있었다. 넷째, 학생수준에서 교우관계 및 교과목 만족도 변인을 통제할 때 학생의 학교생활만족도가 학교의 시설만족도에 따라 차이가 있었고, 또한 학생의 교우관계 및 교과목 만족도와 학교생활만족도의 관계는 학교장의 지도성 및 교사가 인식한 학교장의 지도성을 통제할 때학교의 시설만족도에 따라 차이가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이 연구는 한국교육고용패널 자료의 일부를 활용하기 때문에 결과의 일반화에 제한이 있으나, 중학생의 학교생활만족도를 높이기 위한 정책 시행에 시사점을 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

The purpose of this study was to explore the school factors affecting junior students`` school life satisfaction. The study analyzed the Korean Education and Employment Panel data by hierarchical linear model (HLM). The results were as follows: 1. The factors influencing the junior students`` school life satisfaction not only existed in students but also in school. 2. School Life Satisfaction will be higher when students satisfy about school facilities. 3. The relevance of learning satisfaction and school life satisfaction will be different by school. 4. When student-level variables were controlled, school life satisfaction will vary by school facilities. Although this study will be limited because it only took sone of Korean Education and Employment Panel Data, the junior students`` school life satisfaction, it can be seen that depending on the school, it also will be the basis for improving school life satisfaction.
