본 연구는 한국 문화 교육에서 활발한 문화 간 의사소통을 위해 활용될 수 있는 색채상징 교육내용을 제안하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위하여 전 세계 세종학당에서 사용되고 있는 한국어 교재인 『세종한국어』를 대상으로 1권부터 8권까지 교재 및 지침서를 분석하여 색채상징을 활용할 수있는 문화 관련 내용이 어떻게 제시되고 있는지, 해당 내용에 대한 교사용 설명이 충분히 제공되고 있는지를 살펴보았다. 그리고 ‘국제 통용 한국어 표준 교육과정’을 참조하여 한국 문화 교육에서 다루어야 할 색채상징 교육 내용 목록을 정리하고, 세종한국어에 적용할 수 있는 색채상징교육 내용을 제시하였다. 또한 한국 문화 교육에서 문화 간 의사소통을 위해 색채상징을 어떻게 활용할 것인지 활용 방안도 정리하였다. 본 연구를 통해 보다 효과적인 한국 문화 교육을 위한 색채상징 정보가 한국어 교사들에게 제공될 수 있으며, 이를 바탕으로 한국어 교사와 한국어 학습자 간에, 더 나아가 서로 다른 문화 배경을 가진 학습자들 간의 문화 간 의사소통이 더 긴밀해질 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

This study is aimed at proposing contents of Korean culture education, for ‘Sejong Korean’, a Korean language text that is being used at King Sejong Institute worldwide, for the purpose of intercultural communication applying color symbols. This study, for this, analyzed volume 1 to volume 8 of Sejong Korean and the teacher’s manual, and examined how the contents regarding color symbols are presented, and whether the teacher’s explanations for the said contents are fully offered. Additionally, it referred to the ‘Standard Curriculum of Korean Language for International Use’ and organized the list of contents of color symbols education that should be addressed in Korean culture education, to propose contents for color symbols education which is applicable for Sejong Korean. Furthermore, this study suggested how to apply color symbols in Korean culture education. It is expected that, through this study, Korean language teachers may be provided with color symbols information for more efficient Korean culture education, and consequently Korean language teachers and learners may have closer intercultural communication.
