This article discussed the Sino Japanese classification of characters that belong to group Xiao(效) among the chart of new usual Sino Japanese characters(2010) in the six Sino Japanese dictionaries, and the following conclusions were drawn.1)Labial of the rhyme Hao(豪) was accepted as a -ou type and others of the rhyme Hao(豪) was accepted as a -au type in the Sino Japanese Go`on and Kan`on. 2)Old type of Sino Japanese Go`on and Kan`on in the rhyme Hao(豪) was described as a -ou type in the many dictionaries. but only labial appeared as a -ou type in old Sino Japanese Go`on and Kan`on texts. 3)-O type of rhyme Hao(豪) must be classified as a Go`on because -o type was that influenced by spelling of Kikiman`yo(記紀萬葉). 4)Sino Japanese Go`on of labial in the rhyme Yao(肴) was described as a -jou(-eu) type in the many dictionaries. but it must be corrected as a -ou(-au) type.
