보조동사 「teoku(テオク)」는 다의적이며 지금까지는 연구자에 의해, 체계 적으로 정리된 (견해라는) 것이 없다. 본고에서는 다의적으로 파악되고 있는 「teoku」를 포괄적으로 파악하기 위한 틀을 제시하고자 한다. 본동사 「oku(オク)」의 어휘적인 의미에 동작을 취하는 「oku(置く)」외에 동작을 취하지 않는 「oku(措く)」의 의미가 있는 것에 주목해 크게 둘로 나누어 고찰하였다. 또한, 본동사 「oku」가 주체동작객체변화동사인 것에 주목하고 주체의 측면과 객체의 측면을 동시에 가졌다는 점에서 「teoku」의 아스펙트성도 복합적인 것이라고 가설을 세우고 고찰하였다.그 결과, 기존에 지적되고 있는 주요 용법인 「처치(處置)」「대상의 결과 계속」「부작위(不作爲)」「현상 유지」는 각각 독립적으로 성립하는 것이 아니라, 「대상의 결과 계속」과 「처치」,「현상 유지」와 「부작위」의 용법이 복합적인 관계에 있음을 지적하였다. 또한, 퍼펙트로서 설명되는 용법 「효과 효력의 지속」을 계속에 더하고 한층 더 「주체의 결과 계속성」 및 「주체의 현상 유지」를 추가하여「teoku」를 (전체적으로) 설명하였다. 즉, 「teoku」는 주체적 측면인 완성적인 것과 객체적 측면인 지속적인 의미를 가지고 있는 용법이라고 생각한다. 본고에서는 기존 「처치」와「부작위」로 파악되고 있던 것을 「동작을 취하는 처치」와 「아무것도 하지 않는 처치」의 의미를 가지는 「조치(措置)」라는 용어를 사용하기로 하겠다. 그리고 「teoku」의 의미는 「미래를 내다보고 어떤 조치를 취하는 것(그리고 그 변화의 상태와 효과 효력이 계속되는 것을포함한다)」라고 정의하였다. 그리고 전체적으로 「teoku」는 「prospective aspect」의 면모를 가지고 있어, 행위를 미래에 관련 지어 언급하는 것이라고 말할 수 있겠다.
The Japanese subsidiary verb teoku is said to bepolysemous, and the literature has had no shared precise opinions on it. The aim of this paper is to set up a framework to comprehensively capture the meanings of teoku. Our claim is that teoku has both the usages of a subjective feature, which indicates the perfective aspect, and the usages of the objective feature, which means the continuous aspect. Here we put forward the novel term sochi (=a measure (措置)), which includes the meaning of transactions both with and without some actions. As a result, we indicate that the relevance of usages is mutual between “continuing change of state of objects” and “transaction.” Moreover, the relevance between “maintenance of the present status” and “forbearance” is also mutual. We also define the meaning of teoku as “taking some measures foreseeing the future.” This implies the change of state and continuation of the effect. As a whole, we can safely conclude that teoku has the character as a prospective form and is used to describe some actions related to the future. This amounts to denying the previous analyses that all the usages of “continuing change of state of objects,” “transaction,” “maintenance of the present status,” and “forbearance” are independently composed. Furthermore, we can add to this point the usage of teoku, which in the previous works has been accounted for in term of perfective.What is more, the function of “continuation of effects,” namely, “continuation” can be included. The end result of the subjects, and the maintenance of their present status should be added.By integrating them altogether, we can present the complete picture of the functions of teoku.
