The purpose of this essay is in order to reinterpret≪Out of a doll house≫of Chae man-sik`s novel. Chae man-sik places the feminist novel in the ethical position of feminity. This essay is trying to reinterpret, by analyzing the protagonist in more detail, the social position of No-ra and the failure of this novel which have often been pointed out as intellectual limitations. Therefore, one of the goals of this essay is to find out No-ra’s ‘the success of the failure’ which she gets through ‘persisting’ in doing things despite all the impossible situations that surround her. And another goal is to explore and reveal the structure of this novel which shows clearly the ethicality of No-ra.
