When foreign learners read the newspaper text, it is important that they consider the socio-cultural interaction between themselves and the writer. Further, since most social processes in the articles are different by each topic, their interactions would be different as well. Therefore according to the perspective that a generic nature reflects the social process, I researched on the genre factors expressed from the major components of a sentence by using the 21century Sejong corpus. For analyzing and presenting the genre factors expressed from the components in the sentence, I verified that the differences of frequency between each component of the five topics were statistically significant. Furthermore, inverse relationships of average frequency and distribution were present; however, the objects and complements were rather different. Based on these results, I examined the generic nature expressed from the main components in sentences extracted from the corpus. Through these investigations I presented the teaching methods for genre factors in the article’s topic section using the corpus data.
