이 글은 < 한국문학과 괴물의 형상 >을 구명하고자 하는 연구 주제의 일환으로서, 우리 전통 한시에 나타나는 괴물 소재의 형상화 유형과 그 의미에 대해 살펴보고자 한 것이다. 첫째는 경물의 장대함을 강조하거나 신비감을 표출하는 데 활용되는 것, 둘째는 인물의 왜곡된 또는 긍정적인 모습을 비유적으로 강조하는 데 효과적인 장치로 나타나는 것, 그리고 셋째는 고사 자체를 그대로 끌어다 시적 정황과 연계하거나 새롭게 전용하는 사례가 그것이다. 이 세 가지 유형은 지금까지 확인된 괴물 소재의 한시 작품 중에 많은 비중을 가지고 있다고 판단된 대표적인 사례를 정리한 것이다. 이 사례의 검토를 통하여 우리는, 괴물 소재가 한시에 있어서 소설 작품에서만큼 제재로서 자주나타나지는 않지만, 주로 시적 상상력과 결합하여 경물의 분위기나 느낌을 강조하거나 확장하는 데 유효한 장치로 쓰임을 확인하였다.

This thesis is for clarifying a few aspects of monster figures appearing in Korean chinese poem. Monster figures is a kind of a imaginative thing that a poet designed. This figure is not ordinary, but is very important subject of Korean chinese poem world, so that we are going to make it clear. First, we thought about a displaying magnificent and a mystic figure in their own poem world, and we found out this figure always appeared in a imaginary space. The second is a distorted and a praiseworthy figure, and we found out this kind of figure appeared in their literary device. Finally we talked about a historical and a diversional figure, and we found out this figure appeared in the original text. Now we have to clarify three kinds of monster figure in Korean chinese poem. In the end, we so sure that we will carry on a research the whole monster figures appearing in Korean chinese poem.
