이 연구는 W. D. Romey의 교과서 내용 분석 방법을 초등학교 국어교과서에 적용하여 문법 영역의 성취기준이 구현된 교과서 단원의 탐구적 경향성을 탐색하는 데 목적을 둔다. Romey가 제시한 방법을 각 단원에 적용한 결과, 보완되어야 할 사항은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 권위적, 탐구적 문장 유형의 각 문장에는 차별화 된 점수가 부여될 필요가 있다. 둘째, 국어과 교재에서 중요한 역할을 차지하는 제재, 즉 텍스트에 대해 보다 더 세부적인 기준이 제시될 필요가 있다. 셋째, 국어교과서의 구성 특징인 ``학습 도우미``가 제시하는 문장들에 대한 범주를 추가할 필요가 있다.

The objective of this research is to study exploratory tendencies of a textbook applied an achievement standard of grammar content by the textbook analysis measures developed by W.D. Romey(1968). Romey`s measure has steadily studied the textbook applying the measures. It has not been applied to Korean textbook yet, It has been greatly applied to science, information, society and physical textbook. Romey`s textbook has 6 different measures in order to analyse the content analysis, but this research was studied on 4 different standards concerning Korean textbook and grammar content`s features such as 1) Evaluation for the body of the textbook, 2) Evaluation for pictures and diagram of the textbook, 3) Evaluation for questions of the textbook and 4) activity index of the textbook. The following are the results applied the Romey`s measures. First, there are needs of differentiated scores in authoritative and exploratory sentence. Second, the detailed standard is needed for the texts having important rules in Korean textbook. Third, there are needs to add a category for the sentence indicating a ``study guide``, which is a feature of Korean textbook.
