이론적 설명과 범언어론적 예시를 통해 ``-더-``가 증거성 표지로서 기능을 벗어나는 근거가 내러티브에서 서술자가 취하는 관점의 차이에 있다는 점을 주장하였다. 1900년대부터 1940년대까지의 소설과 신문 자료를 10년 주기로 나누어 조사하기로 한다. 일차적인 목표는 내러티브에서 나타나는 ``-더-``가 사라지는 추이를 살피는 데에 있다. 더불어 신문 자료에 나타나는 ``-더-``의 성격에 대해 재확인하는 의미가 있다. 소설과 신문의 자료 분석을 통하여 증거성 표지가 현대적 문체에 자리를 내어주는 추이를 살폈다. 또한 이희정(2007a)의 논의처럼 소설이나 신문에 나타나는 ``-더-``를 동일한 성격의 것으로 판단할 수 없고 김미형(1998)이나 안예리(2014)의 논의처럼 ``-다더라``로 대표되는 전언을 신문의 대표적인 문체로 받아들여야 한다는 점을 확인했다.

The reason that the function of ``-te-`` as evidential marker strays from its usage can be explained by the difference in the perspectives of narrators in narratives. We inspected the corpus of newpapers and novels from 1900s through 1940s. The primary purpose of the study is that we can explain why ``-te-`` in novels and newspapers in the first half of the 20th century disappeared. We can show the reason that the roles of ``-te-`` in the narratives have been changed in novels and newspapers.
