본고는 ‘北譜’에 이어 두 번째로 ‘南譜’를 대상으로 조선후기 당파보 연구를 진행하였다. 텍스트 연구를 위주로 하였는데, 즉 현존하는 異本30종(이외에 목록만으로 확인되는 5종이 더 있음)을 收合實査하여 그 연원이 오랜 것과 근자의 것, 지역적으로 近畿南人집안의 것과 嶺南南人집안의 것 등으로 구분하고 각각의 특징을 살펴보았다. 그 결과 咸平李儒修(1758~1822)가 소장했던 1책본 『남보』(고려대 신암문고 소장)가 현존하는 이본 중 가장 이른 시기에 만들어진 것으로 확인되었다. 1800년 직후에 만들어졌고 27성 76본관(끝에 일부 낙장)을 수록하고 있다. 대부분의 ‘남보’는 3책에서 6책 분량으로 19세기말에 만들어졌으며, 수록 성관은 43~57姓, 118~167本貫을 포괄하고 있다. 성균관대 존경각본과 규장각본은 공히 9책이면서 가장 풍성한 내용을 담고 있는 바, 두 본 모두 인동장씨가에서 1894년을 전후하여 만들어진 것이다. 현존 ‘남보’ 중에는 가장 善本으로 파악된다. 칠곡의 廣州李氏家舊藏『便譜』(4책, 서울역사박물관 소장)와 상주의 豊山柳氏家구장 『南譜』(3책, 연세대 愚川文庫소장)는 19세기말에 만들어진 것으로 영남남인가에서 소장한 것이지만 영남가문들이 보다 상세한 특성을 보이지는 않는다. 오히려 小泉安鍾福이 필사한 광주안씨본(3책)은 작성 시기가 20세기이지만 근기남인가 『남보』의 특색을 잘 보여준다.

From the middle of the 18c Choson Dynasty, books related to party genealogy became common. For example, 5th generation genealogy which wrote officials passed state examination or succeeded their post from their fathers, 8th generation genealogy, and Gwagalbo( 瓜葛譜) which wrote relatives of family. Along with these, party genealogy which wrote four different parties emerged. Party genealogy is unique literature which existed only in Choson Dynasty of Korea among East Asian culture using Chinese character. This paper focuses on South party, succeeding the previous paper, North party. Also, it refers to 30 different rare books -from old-dated books to new ones and from areas near the Seoul to Yeong-nam- by summarizing them each. As a result, the book Nambo (meaning ``South party``) is the earliest rare book which was kept by Hampyung(咸平) Lee Yu Soo(1758~1822). Most South party books are composed of 3 to 6 sets of books made in the last 19c. Two books, kept in SungKyunKwan University of Jongyeonggak Library and kyujanggak respectively, are the most abundant and well-made ones wrote in around 1894. Other two books related to South party like Gwangju Lee family in Chilgok and Pungsan Ryu family in Sangju, describe Yeongnam South party``s family in detail. Additionally, Gwangju An family book wrote by Sochun AnJong-bok shows South party``s characteristics. To help understanding, this paper contains South party people``s form and their lives. I hope to keep up my study and show the overall characteristics of party genealogy in the latter period of Choson dynasty.
