본 연구는 웹툰 서비스 주 이용 단말기가 PC에서 스마트폰으로 이동함에 따라 웹툰 서비스 사용자들의 모바일 웹툰 정보추구행동을 분석하고 모형을 구축하고자 하였다. 본 연구는 심층 인터뷰와 관찰 기법으로 조사를 진행했으며 연구대상은 웹툰 서비스를 일주일에 2회 이상 사용하는 20~30대 남녀를 대상으로 설문조사 하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 첫째, 모바일에서의 웹툰 정보추구 발생 원인, 웹툰 플랫폼 선택에 영향을 미치는 요인, 웹툰 정보추구행동 중재요인을 규명하였고 이를 기반으로 사용자 정보추구행동을 모형화 하였다. 둘째, 웹툰 정보를 탐색하는 유형에는 사용자가 평소에 보는 웹툰을 탐색할 경우, 웹툰 플랫폼 안에서의 내/외부 정보원을 통한 웹툰 정보탐색과정, 웹툰 플랫폼 밖에서의 내/외부 정보원을 통한 웹툰 정보탐색과정 이렇게 세 가지 유형이 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, PC와 구별되는 모바일 웹툰의 정보추구행동만의 특징에는 푸쉬알림 기능과 이동성, 휴대성, 데이터 비용 등이 있음을 규명하였다.

Smartphone is the main device that webtoon service users are using. For this reason this study puts the purpose to find the features and patterns of Information seeking behavior of mobile webtoon and to build a model of Information seeking behavior of mobile webtoon. This study analyzed with Indepth interview and Think aloud observation. Respondents are 20~30 aged men and women who use webtoon service at least twice a week. Based on the research result, First, This study found causes of web toon information seeking, factors affecting the choice of web toon platforms, intervention factors of web toon information seeking behavior were identified. Based on these facts, This study made the Model of Information seeking behavior in the mobile webtoon . Second, there are 3 types of web toon information seeking including information searching for everyday-reading web toon, information searching inside web toon platforms, and information searching through outside resources. Third, the information-seeking behaviors of Mobile web toon have features such as push notifications, mobility, portability, and data fees which are distinguishing from features of web toon information seeking behaviors on a PC.
