젠트리피케이션에 저항하는 도시사회운동에 적극적으로 참여하는 예술가와 문화생산자의 활동이 증가하고 있다. 본 연구는 예술가와 문화생산자들의 주도하는 젠트리피케이션 저항운동의 의미를 최근 발생한 테이크아웃드로잉의 안티-젠트리피케이션 운동을 사례로 살펴보고자 한다. 문화행동 관점에서 도시와 예술가의 관계를 다루는 논의들은 지속되어왔으나, 국내 도시사회운동의 흐름에서 예술가들의 문화적 실천이 주목받기 시작한 것은 비교적 최근의 일이다. 특히 젠트리피케이션에 대한 예술가들의 저항이 어떻게 문화행동을 통해 드러나는지 면밀히 살펴본 논의는 많지 않다. 본 연구에서는 예술(문화)에 기반한 테이크아웃드로잉 저항의 구성, 아젠다, 기여점에 대해 분석하였다. 예술가(문화생산자), 문화, 창조적 분위기가 테이크아웃드로잉의 젠트리피케이션 투쟁 과정에 중요한 역할을 담당하였으며, 도시에 대한 비판적 접근을 가능하게 하는 큰 잠재력을 가지고 있음을 확인하였다. 문화행동주의 관점에서 살펴본 테이크아웃드로잉 사례를 통해, 도시사회운동에서 문화와 예술적 실천이 갖는 역할에 대한 향후 연구 아젠다를 제시하고자 한다.

There is a mounting evidence of growing mobilisation by artists and cultural producers in urban social movements, resisting particular urban development so called gentrification. This paper discusses the meaning of artists and cultural producers led mobilisation in oppositional movements. The paper describes one specific urban protest that has occurred in recent years: the anti-gentrification movement of Takeout Drawing in Seoul. The research analyses the composition, agenda and contributions of the art (cultural) activism. Artists (cultural producers), culture, and creative milieux have played a vital role in the protest`s success and have considerable potential for inspiring critical approaches to cities. Through addressing the case of Takeout Drawing in terms of cultural activism, the essay finally raises a future research agenda on the role of artistic practice and culture in urban social movements.
