19세기 후반 한반도로 이주한 중국인들은 자신들의 사회와 문화를 유지하는 데 화교학교는 중요한 역할을 담당하였다. 화교학교는 한국정부의 억압과 배제의 정책들로부터 벗어난 방임과 예외상태에 놓여 있었다. 이로 인해 대만이 한국 화교학교를 통제·지원하였다. 본 연구는 지구, 국가, 로컬의 힘들이 중층적으로 상호 작용하는 글로네이컬(glonacal) 관점으로 대구화교중학교를 고찰하였다. 지구적 스케일에서는 (탈)냉전과 (신)자유주의를, 국가적 스케일에서는 대만과 한국 정부의 화교학교 정책을 그리고 로컬적 스케일에서는 화교인구와 학생 수 간의 관계, ``각종학교``로서의 화교학교, 화교학교와 로컬의 화교사회의 상호작용 등을 논의하였다. 세계화와 다문화사회가 진전됨에 따라 글로네이컬 틀의 유용성과 적용 범위가 넓어질 것이다. 따라서 이것의 정교화 작업과 사례 연구가 필요할 것이다.

The Chinese schools in South Korea have taken an important role of keeping overseas Chinese`s society and culture whose origin was a few Chinese migrating in the Korean Peninsula in the late 19th century. They were positioned as a free and exceptional status from the repressive and exclusive policies to Korean overseas Chinese by the authoritative government. So Taiwan controled and supported the Chinese schools in South Korea. The study deeply investigated Taegu Chinese Middle School through a glonacal perspective in which various forces or factors in global, national and local scale were multilayered and interacted. (Post) cold war and (new) liberalism at a global scale and the various policies of the Taiwan and South Korean government related to the Chinese schools at a national scale were critically investigated. At a local scale, the relations between the population of Korean overseas Chinese and the students` numbers of Taegu Chinese Middle School, the situations of Taegu Chinese schools as the ``Various School,`` and so on were discussed. The utility of a glonacal perspective as a conceptual framework will be expended as globalization and multicultural society will be developed in the future. So it is needed to articulate a glonacal framework which will guide case studies.
