이 연구의 목적은 병원학교에 근무하는 특수교사를 통해 병원학교와 건강장애학생에 대한경험과 인식은 어떠한지에 대하여 알아보기 위한 연구이다. 이를 위하여 병원학교에 근무하는 특수교사를 대상으로 건강장애학생에 대한 경험과 인식, 건강장애학생들의 지도 과정 등에 대한 관찰, 문헌검토, 심층면담을 실시하였다. 연구 결과 병원학교에 근무하는 특수교사는 다양한 특성을 가진 건강장애학생들을 경험하고있었는데, 특히 특수교사는 건강장애학생들이 학년별, 질환별로 매우 다양하기 때문에 교육적지원에서 많은 어려움을 경험하고 있었다. 이 연구는 병원학교에서 교육받는 건강장애학생들이 화상강의, 자원봉사자, 일반학교와 연계된 수업 제공과 같은 교육적 지원뿐만 아니라 정서적인어려움을 극복할 수 있는 심리적 지원이 제공될 필요가 있음을 보여주고 있다. 또한, 건강장애학생들 뿐만 아니라 이들을 지원하는 병원학교 특수교사들에 대해서도 지도하는데 있어서의 어려움이나 심리적인 어려움을 완화시킬 수 있는 방안들이 모색되어져야 함을 보여주고 있다.

The purpose of this study was to identify how a special education teacher working in the special classroom of a hospital school experienced and perceived about students with health impairments and their education. This study attempted to explore the experience, perception, teaching processes and others about those with health impairments by observation, document analysis and in-depth interview from the special education teacher in the hospital school. The result of the study showed that the special teacher in the hospital school experienced students with health impairments with various characteristics. and, in particular, the special education teacher experienced due to students’ various characteristics across grades and diseases. This study shoed that to solve the difficulties shown in this study required video learning, volunteers, educational support related to general schools, and psychological support overcoming emotional difficulties. In addition, it showed that special education teachers teaching those with health impairments as well as students with health impairments need to receive services in order to lessen teaching difficulties or emotional difficulties.
