본 논문에서는 대표적인 반사회성 행동장애인 품행장애로 진단된 15명의 청소년들과 대조군인 동일한 수의 일반청소년들이 얼굴표정이라는 감성 정보를 포함한 자극을 인지하고 반응을 할 경우 나타나는 두뇌활성화차이를 기능자기공명영상법(fMRI)으로 관찰하였다. 연구결과에 따르면 품행장애를 지닌 청소년들은 K-YSR을 이용하여 측정된 여러 가지 행동의 특성에서 대조군인 일반청소년들과 차이를 보였다. 두뇌활성화 부위 중 특히 방추상회와 전측대상회의 낮은 활성화는 품행장애 집단이 대조군에 비해 주의 집중이 어렵다는 것을 보여준다. 이 결과는 품행장애 청소년들에 대한 진단적 의미와 더불어 재활 및 교육에 대한 정보를 제공하고 있다.

The present study investigated the brain activation patterns of violent and normal adolescents between age of 15 to 17 during by perceiving facial expressions using functional MRI. 15 subjects were recruited in each group. It is to note that all violent adolescents were diagnosed to have conduct disorders and they showed different behavioral patterns due to the measurement using K-YSR compared to normal. Significantly reduced activity in fusiform as well as anterior cingulate areas of violent adolescents were observed and these were regarded as the lack of attentional ability.
