본 연구는 한국과 중국 대학생들의 정치 지도자 평가를 문화적 차원에서 조망 하였다. 이를 위해서 수도권 내 소재하고 있는 대학교에 재학 중인 한국인 학생과 중국인 유학생을 대상으로, 쿼터샘플링(Quota Sampling)을 이용해 표본을 선정하였으며, 2016년 5월 23일부터 5월 30일까지 1주일에 걸쳐 조사가 이루어졌다. 총 350부의 설문지를 확보했으며 이 중 답하지 않은 문항 수가 많거나 불성실한 답변으로 일관한 설문지들을 제외한 310명의 응답을 분석했다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 양국의 대학생 유권자들은 지도자의 리더쉽과 소통 능력 등을 다른 항목들에 비해서 상대적으로 중요시 여기고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 정치 지도자 평가 10개 항목 모두에서 한국과 중국 간에 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 나아가 중국 대학생들이 한국 대학생들에 비해서 그 평가 항목에 있어서 편차 없이 높은 점수를 부여함으로써 가치 중심적 성향을 보이고 있다. 셋째, 응답자들의 권력거리 성향이 한국과 중국 둘 다 낮게 나타났다. 넷째, 한국 대학생들의 권력거리 수용성은 정치 지도자의 ‘리더십지수(β=.322, p<.05)’와 ‘도덕성 지수(β=.349, p<.05)’를 평가하는 데, 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 중국의 경우에는 권력거리가 정치 지도자의 ‘능력 지수(β=.174 p<.05)’, ‘도덕성지수(β=.278, p<.05)’, ‘공감지수(β=.620, p<.05 )’에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

This study investigated the cultrual difference on political leader’s evaluation. For this study, the survey questionnaires were administered among college students in Seoul metropolitan area from May, 23rd through May, 30th, 2016. The total 310 data were collected by quota sampling and analyzed. The results showed that 1) communication skill (Korean Mean=5.65, Chinese Mean=6.58) and leadership (Korean Mean=5.74, Chinese Mean=6.62) were evaluated as one of highest items by both Korean and Chinese students ; that 2) there was a difference between Korean students and Chinese students at all of the 10 evaluation items; that 3) the acceptance of the power distance was low at both korean and chinese college students; and that 4) Korean students’ power distance was related to leadership evaluation index (β=.322, p<.0.5) and integrity evaluation index(β=.349, p<.05) whereas Chinese students’ power distance was related to ability evaluation index (β=.174 p<.05), integrity evaluation index(β=.278, p<.0.5) and emphaty (β=.620, p<.05 ).
