본 연구의 목적은 한국과 스웨덴에서 중증장애인을 고용하고 있는 사회적 기업의 태동배경과 운영현황을 분석하고, 스웨덴의 운영사례를 통해 한국의 사회적 기업이 중증장애인 고용증진을 위해 나아가야 할 발전방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 먼저 선행연구 고찰을 통해 사회적 기업의 개념과 특성, 유형들을 구분하였고, 한국과 스웨덴의 중증장애인 고용현황 및 중증장애인 중심의 사회적 기업이 태동하게 된 배경 및 현황을 살펴보았으며, 다음으로 스웨덴의 중증장애인 사회적 기업의 대표적인 모델로 제시되어지는 Samhall의 운영사례를 통해 한국의 사회적 기업이 지향해 나가야 할 발전 방향들을 제안하고자 하였다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the establishment background of social enterprises in Korea and Sweden which have hired severe disabled employees, the operational facts and figures of the enterprises, and the related policies to support such enterprises through comparison between two countries, and to present a direction for Korean Social Enterprises to pursue for enhancing employment of significant disability people, in reference to the cases of Sweden. For the purpose, this study investigated the employment trend of Korean and Sweden society in hiring significant disability people and the background from which such enterprises could be born and current facts and figures of the enterprises in terms of operation, through previous researchers. Then, I visited Samhall, which are the leading and exemplary social enterprises of Sweden, respectively with significant disability employees, and analyzed their operational facts and figures through interviews with them. With the findings from the analysis, this study aims to present a direction for Korean Social Enterprises with significant disability employees to pursue for development in the future, compared to Swedish Social Enterprises led by Samhall.
