본 연구는 지역사회 장애인들이 만족스러운 삶을 영위하는데 필요한 보조공학서비스가 활성화되기 위해 지역사회 재활기관에서는 어떠한 준비가 되어야 할 것인가라는 질문을 바탕으로 지역사회 재활기관을 이용하고 있는 장애당사자들을 대상으로 보조공학서비스에 대한 인지와 욕구를 분석하였다. 분석결과 보조공학서비스에 대한 장애당사자들의 인지수준은 약 50% 정도로 나타났으며, 사용하고 있는 보조기구는 대체로 이동보조기구가 많았다. 보조기구를 활용함으로써 일상생활의 활동을 하는데 편리함을 가져와서 만족스럽다는 응답이 63.7%로 나타났으며, 지역사회 내에 보조공학서비스를 제공하는 기관이 생긴다면 이용할 의향이 있다는 응답이 약 90%이었다. 보조공학서비스에 대한 욕구로는 지역사회에 보조기구서비스 지원센터의 설치, 지원대상의 확대, 보조기구 품목의 확대에 대한 응답이 높았다. 지역사회 장애인을 위한 보조공학서비스의 활성화 방안으로, 재활기관에서는 장애당사자들이 보조공학 제도와 서비스에 대해 쉽게 접근할 수 있도록 정보를 제공해야 하며, 개인에게 적합한 보조공학적 처방을 위한 상담, 평가 및 체계적인 시스템이 수립되어야 한다. 또한 장애당사자와 보조공학 센터, 보조기구 산업현장 간의 통로 역할을 통해 당사자의 욕구에 적합한 보조공학서비스가 이루어질 수 있도록 지원이 이루어져야 할 것이다.

This Study was to analyze the Perception and Needs of the community rehabilitation center users with Disabilities about Assistive Technology. The study question was what are the rehabilitation center`s readiness to vitalize the assistive technology for the contented persons with disabilities life. The result from the data analyzed as follows. The perception standard of assistive technology service was 50 percent. And the using assistive devices are mobility assisting device in general. The convenience satisfaction of daily life by assisting device was 63.7 percent. If a assistive technology service center will be built in community, 90 percent of the people surveyed say that they are interested in using the center. The major needs of assistive technology service were set up assistive technology service center, expand the range of aids and assisting device items. The ways to vitalize the assistive technology service for the persons with disabilities were as follow. First, rehabilitation center has to provide the information of assistive technology system and services in easily approachable. Second, counseling, evaluation, systematic approach for the prescription of assistive technology are required. Third, rehabilitation center has to carry out channel role among the persons with disabilities, assistive technology center, assisting device industry.
