The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship of the selfsupervision of teachers and their teacher efficacy in a bid to help improve their professionalism. The findings of the study were as follows: First, the type of institution where they worked made no differences to the extent of self-supervision, and gender, position and academic background exerted an influence on that. It indicated that every teacher performed self-supervision regardless of the type of institution that they worked for. By gender, the male teachers fulfilled more self-supervision than the females, probably because the former was less responsible for child rearing and household chores and eventually spent more time on self-supervision. Those who held a higher position fulfilled more self- supervision, and the reason seemed that the experienced teachers got more confident and responsible. And the better-educated teachers performed more self-supervision, and it seemed because they had a lot of chances to learn about new theories, take training courses or attend lectures while they received graduate school or higher education. Second, the type of institution and position made a difference to teacher efficacy. The high school teachers and head teachers excelled the elementary teachers and lay teachers in that regard. It showed that the high school teachers were better aware of their influence on students, and that the head teachers were more confident of student treatment and teaching ability than the lay teachers. Third, the extent of self-supervision made a difference to teacher efficacy and its subfactors involving personal and general teaching efficacy. Those who fulfilled more self-supervision had a better teacher efficacy, which denoted that the degree of self-supervision exerted an influence on boosting teacher efficacy, and that a better fulfillment of self-supervision led to higher pride and more confidence about teaching ability and student handling.
