이 연구는 보조공학기기 사용이 척수손상 장애인의 심리사회에 미치는 영향을 파악하기위한 것으로 채수영(2008)이 번안한 한국어판 Psychosocial Impact of Assistive DevicesScale(PIADS)을 적용하여 분석하였다.연구 대상은 척수손상 장애인 남성 59명으로, 평균연령은 51.03세, 완전손상이 36명(61.0%)이었으며, 손상영역에 있어서는 흉추손상이 33명(55.9%)로 나타났다. 사용하는 보조공학기기로는 수동휠체어가 34명(57.6%)로 가장 많았으며, 사용기간에 있어서는 10년미만의 사용자가 25명(42.4%), 보유하고 있는 보조공학기기의 수에 있어서는 2대가 26명(44.1%)으로 나타났다.이 연구의 결과 31세 ~ 40세의 경우 자기욕구 실현능력과 적응성에서 1.40, 1.59, 자존감은 41세 ~ 50세에서 .81로 높게 나타났다. 사용기간의 경우 10년 ~ 20년 미만이 자기욕구실현능력과 적응성에서 높게 나타났으며, 자존감은 10년 미만의 사용자가 높게 나타났다. 대표적 사용기기의 경우 전동휠체어에서 자기욕구 실현능력과 적응성이 각각 .85와 1.32, 자존감은 핸드컨트롤러에서 높게 나타났다. 연구 대상자에 대한 보조공학기기 사용 인식도와심리사회적 영향과의 관계에서 인식도간의 상관성은 나타나지 않았으나, PIADS 하위척도간의 상관성은 높은 상관을 보였다.결론적으로 척수손상 장애인들이 현재 사용하고 있는 보조공학기기가 그들의 심리사회에긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있었다.
The current study used the Korean version of PIADS translated by Chae sooyoung(2008) to assess the psychosocial impact on use of assistive technology devices of SCI. 59 adults(male) with SCI were analyzed using PIADS. The average age of subjects was 51.03 years. 36 persons of them(61.0%) were complete injury and thoracic injury was 33 persons(55.9%). Manual wheelchair user, 34 persons(57.6%); using less than 10 years, 25 persons(42.4%); participants have two pieces of item showed 26 persons(44.1%). The results of this study, 31-40 years old person was shown 1.40 and 1.59 in competence and adaptability, and 41-50 years old person was shown .81 at the self-esteem. In the period of using the devices, 10-20 years was shown highly by competence and adaptability, and less than 10 years was shown highly at the self-esteem. Also, Power wheelchair was shown .85 and 1.32 in competence and adaptability, and self-esteem was shown highly at the hand-controller. For the relationship between recognition and psychosocial impact on using assistive devices, the correlation between the perception did not appear, but correlation between sub-scales of PIADS was shown. Consequently, we found that the use of assistive technology devices have positively affected to psychosocial of the patients with SCI.
