Rivermead Mobility Index는 운동 기능 평가를 위해서 개발된 도구이며 국외에서는 이미여러 나라의 언어로 번안된 버전들로 신뢰도와 타당도 연구가 이루어져 널리 쓰이고 있어 이러한 RMI를 한글화하여 그 신뢰도와 타당도를 검증함으로써 임상에서 뇌졸중 환자의 운동 기능 평가를 쉽고 간편하게 할 수 있는 방법을 모색하고자 본 연구를 실시하였다. 연구 대상자는 경기도 소재 L 재활병원에 입원 중인 환자들 중 무작위로 37명(남자 15명, 여자 12명)을 선정하였다. 본 연구를 위해 1명의 물리치료사가 평가를 실시하였고, 번안 작업을 위해 2명의 물리치료사와 1명의 영문번역자, 그리고 2명의 번역가와 교수, 언어 전문가 등이 참여하여 평가를 진행하였다. 그 결과에서, RMI의 검사-재검사 간 신뢰도는 ICC=.984로서 높은 신뢰도를 나타내었고, 내적 일치도 또한 Cronbach’s 알파계수가 .796으로 높게 나타났으며, STREAM과 BI와의 동시 타당도 또한 .848, .702로 높은 타당도를 나타내었다. 결론적으로 한국어판 RMI는 높은 신뢰도와 타당도를 나타내어 향후 뇌졸중 환자를 위한 임상평가 도구로 사용할 수 있을 것이라 판단된다.

The purpose of this study was to establish the reliability and validity of the Korean version of Rivermead Mobility Index (K-RMI) for the evaluation of the mobility in patients with stroke. The RMI was translated into Korean by two physical therapists one civilian, two translators, one professor, and one language expert. Thirty-seven patients with stroke were evaluated through the K-RMI by a different physical therapist. Reevaluation was assessed in order to obtain the test-retest reliability by the same physical therapist after 7 days. The test-retest reliability was good, proven by the Intra correlation coefficient (ICC) score of .984. Cronbach’s alpha coefficiency of the performance score of the K-RMI was .796. The STREAM and BI was used to verify the validity of K-RMI. The Spearman test between K-RMI and K-STREAM and between K-RMI and K-BI were .848 and .702 respectively. The K-RMI is a highly reliable and valid outcome measurement to evaluation of mobility for patients with stroke.
