본 연구는 구매 프로젝트 학습이 지적장애학생의 경제개념 및 자기결정력에 미치는 영향을 알아보는데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 중학교에 재학하고 있는 지적장애학생 30명을 선정하여 실험집단과 통제집단에 각각 15명씩 배치하고, 실험집단에 주1~3회씩 총 20회기에 걸쳐 구매 프로젝트 학습 프로그램을 시행하고, 통제집단에는 같은 기간 동안 교사 주도의 ‘경제’관련 교육을 실시하였다. 본 연구에서 실험집단과 통제집단을 대상으로 사전 및 사후 검사를 실시하고, 공분산 분석을 통해 효과 차이를 검증한 결과, 구매프로젝트 학습은 지적장애학생의 경제개념 습득에 유의한 효과가 있었고, 지적장애학생의 자기결정력 향상에도 유의한 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 구매 프로젝트 학습은 중학교 지적장애학생들의 경제개념 습득과 자기결정력 향상에 효과적인 교수방법이라고 할 수 있다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of purchase project learning on the development of the economic concept and self-determination on students with intellectual disability. In order to achieve purpose, this study selected thirty students with intellectual disability at a middle school and assigned purchase project learning program. The results of study are as follows: First, the experimental group who undertook the purchase project learning outperformed in post-test compared with the pre-test. On the other hand, the control group with direct instruction didn’t show as much improvement in posttest result as the pre-test. Second, the experimental group’s improved performance in their post-test indicates that purchase project learning yields considerably meaningful effectiveness in improving their self-determination. Thus, it can be concluded that purchase project learning is a very effective teaching and learning method that helps middle school students with intellectual disability in acquiring both economic concept and improving their self-determination.
